Welcome to Manual Medicine
Where my first priority is to help you feel better.
My name is Nick Beram. In addition to being a registered Osteopath, proprietor and sole practitioner of Manual Medicine, I am a Naremburn native (born and raised), husband and proud father.
I began Manual Medicine because I am passionate about understanding the fundamental mechanics of the human body, particularly in relation to pain and injury management. Through my years of education and experience I have developed considerable expertise in these areas. It is my goal to implement this expertise in a way that can help people find relief from pain and ultimately maximise their health and wellbeing.
Manual Medicine is the realisation of this goal and the culmination of 7 years of study and over 15 years of practical experience in manual therapies. I first completed a Diploma in Health Science in Massage Therapy but upon completion of this course I was inspired to continue my studies and further enhance my knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. I decided to pursue a career in Osteopathy because I genuinely believe in the philosophies underlying the practice. It just makes sense to me.
I went on to complete a Bachelor in Applied Science, followed by a Masters Degree in Osteopathy at the University of Western Sydney. Throughout my studies I worked with a range of experienced and established industry professionals including Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, and Podiatrists. This experience allowed me to recognise the fundamental importance of the industry and in 2006 I decided to open my own clinic in my local area.
Like all practicing osteopaths I am fully registered with the Osteopathic Board of Australia (OBA), the national board responsible for regulating the osteopathic professional throughout the country. Additionally I am a member of Osteopathy Australia, the peak body representing the interests of osteopaths, osteopathy as a profession and consumer’s right to access osteopathic services within Australia. As a member of Osteopathy Australia I am committed to continuing professional education and am required to comply with a high standard of professional and ethical behaviour over and above the requirements of my OBA registration.
I treat people of all ages, from all walks of life – from labourers to office workers, pregnant women, seniors, and weekend warriors to name a few. I believe osteopathic treatment can often be the best way to resolve pain and recover from injury. Over the years, I have been able to successfully treat a wide range of conditions such as back pain, foot and knee problems, frozen shoulder, sciatica, whiplash, sports related injuries, pain resulting from poor work related ergonomics and headaches.
I pride myself on taking the time required to provide each and every client with the most comprehensive and personalised service possible. In order to fully understand your specific complaints and identify how best to achieve a positive result I will obtain a detailed current and past medical history with you before we start on an orthopedic examination, assessment of biomechanics, treatment and home exercise plans for all musculoskeletal complaints.
Flexibility and accessibility is a priority for me. Appointments are available Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturdays 9am to 1pm. I always endeavour to make myself available for my clients, even upon short notice. Same day appointments can often be accommodated.
Yours in health
